Article Abstract:

When the people of East Timor voted overwhelmingly in favour of independence from Indonesia, chaos ensued, the militia intervened, and foreign diplomats and international journalists began to leave the country. Colonel Ken Brownrigg, the military attache in charge of the Australian mission compound, helped the UN's East Timor international force, to restore law and order.

Valour under fire

Article Abstract:

Ron Cashman and Don Harris, two Australian servicemen share their experiences of saving their wounded fellow soldiers with courage and valour amidst the blazing fire in the Korean War. Cashman was awarded the Military Medal for rescuing Gargate and Ballard, his fellow servicemen.
