U.S. plan for Mexican border sparks uproar
Article Abstract:
To prevent illegal entries crossing the U.S. border, the U.S. Border Patrol, according to its Assistant Chief, Todd Birdsong, proposes to build 2,000 kilometers of road, fences, spy cameras and lights along the river dividing Texas and Mexico. Vicente Fox, Mexico's President-elect, is, however, calling for a more open border and economic cooperation for a stronger Mexico which should reduce border crossing.
