Cardinal Josef Ratzinger was elected as the new pope to succeed Pope John Paul II and the vast crowd welcomed him as the newly named Benedict XVI. The new pope has strong views on other forms of Christianity, US politics, other religions, contraception, sexual abuse scandals, homosexuality, women as priests and relations with the Muslim world.

Article Abstract:

Madan, a small town in Iraq, which was once a lush marshland and regarded as the site of the Garden of Eden, has turned into an arid desert. Environmental experts feel that time is running short to replenish the marshes with fresh wildlife, which used to supply two thirds of fish and 40% of the shrimps caught of Kuwait.

The change in the regime of Iraq and the attitude of the Iraqi people towards the American occupation in Iraq is discussed. Though the American government calls itself as liberators, it would still take a lot of hard work to change the view of Iraqi people.
