Article Abstract:

The rise in the incidence of school violence committed by both elementary and high school students is causing great concern among authorities. Among the reasons cited for the commission of violent acts are lack of parental guidance, mass media's promotion of destructive attitudes and the schools' lax policies on discipline. Measures adopted by schools to stop violence include installation of metal detectors, promulgation of stricter disciplinary policies and provision of programs intended to develop in the students human relations skills.

Article Abstract:

Experts are arguing on the introduction of Charles Darwin's theory of evolution, 'intelligent design' in public school science classes. Even though the Kansas-based Intelligent Design Network has found evidence supporting the theory revealing that humans were purposely designed by a higher intelligence, most scientists claim that no such evidence exists.
