As John Howard readies himself for his third term as Australian Prime Minister, he is focused on taking control of the account of his contribution to the Australian politcal landscape. Howard is vehemently opposed to the perception that he won the election on the strength of one aspect of his platform -- to keep the borders closed against boat people. Howard believes Australia is ripe for the type of conservative nationalism he espouses.
