Article Abstract:
Wearable cell phones are purshing further the envelope of telephone etiquette, already stretched thin by the advent of cellular phones. Mobile phone users are adopting miniscule earphones and microphones that connect by a thin wire to the phone unit. Some users have done so to have their hands free. Others are uncertain over the health effects of holding a cell phone next to the brain. The social cue of 'hand to ear' equals 'I'm on the phone' is disappearing. Society will have to develop new etiquette for phone users in public places.

Article Abstract:
Many businesses, restaurants, hospitals, movie theaters and retail establishments are posting signs and warnings limiting or prohibiting the use of cellular telephones. Despite the convenience they enjoy from the wireless technology, cellular phone users are now being taken to task for forgetfulness and rudeness as phones ring in many public places where the privacy of others is disturbed. Some engineers are trying to come up with softwares that turn a phone down or to 'vibrate' mode when the user enters a 'quiet zone.' Some hospitals and businesses have gone as far as to install radio jammers that do not allow the phones to operate.
