So, who wants to be a politician?

Article Abstract:

Politics is not for the faint-hearted people where rejection by either their colleagues or by electors marked the end of most, which is emphasized by narrating examples of suicide attempts by certain Australian politicians. It is unlikely that the pressures on politicians would ease in any way and by its nature the job demands long hours, much time away from home, continuous pressure to perform, all conducted under often oppressive media scrutiny.
