RVs load with luxuries selling well

Article Abstract:

Sales of recreation vehicles (RV) continue to be strong, with 321,000 vehicles sold in 1999, second only to the 389,000 sold in 1978. RV sales in 1999 reached $10.4 billion, an increase of $2 billion from 1998. Motor homes, travel trailers and truck campers are classified as RVs. Among the attractive new features installed in RVs include big-screen TVs, jacuzzis, slide-out rooms and satellite dishes. While RV analysts foresee a 3% increase in RV sales this year, this could change if gasoline prices continue to increase.
