Quebecor companies to buy Toronto 1 in $46-million deal

Sun Media and TVA Group, both arms of giant Quebecor, reached a deal to buy the money-losing television station from CHUM, gaining a foothold in English-language TV and a partner for its Toronto Sun newspaper. Quebecor will pay $46-million for the money-losing station, with $34.5-million coming from its TVA Group Inc. arm that is a powerhouse French language television production and distribution.
