Megawati Sukarnoputri, daughter of the 1960s Indonesian president Sukarno, may be that country's next president. Sukarnoputri's heritage is her strongest asset, and her popularity crosses ethnic and religious boundaries. Her platform emphasizes education, social justice, and unemployment, and she has been looking for support from the military while opposing an independent East Timor.
