OSC probe adds to Bonham's woes

The Ontario Securities Commission is investigating the former founder and chief exectutive officer at Toronto, Ont.-based Strategic Value Corp. The OSC, which has targeted Mark Bonham for alleged securities violations, is looking into charges that the former CEO attempted to manipulate the value of the company's mutual funds.

Nova closes Strategic deal

Article Abstract:

Strategic Value Corp., which is a mutual funds company, will be acquired by Montreal, Quebec-based Nova Bancorp (Canada) Ltd. for $67 million. Nova Bancorp, which is an affiliate of the Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, will shift many of Strategic Value's employees to Quebec.

Webb wooed away from AIM

Toronto, Ont.-based C.I. Fund Management Inc. has hired Derek Webb as its new top fund manager. Mr. Webb, who had been working at AIM Funds Management Inc., may set up and manage a new partnership with C.I. Fund Management.
