Article Abstract:
As the United States takes on a more dominant role in international issues, international laws as mandated by the United Nations and International Criminal Court are seen to have a bearing on some of the verdicts of the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has been criticized by conservatives for referring to International law on some of its verdicts. The conservatives are of the opinion that the Supreme Court should stick to interpreting the US constitution and not refer to laws of other regions.

Most Supreme Court justices have guarded access to their papers, with some even ordering to destroy their collections after they left the court. On the other hand, justices who did donate their documents to libraries and historical societies have left limited collections, restricting access to those papers until the death or retirement of their one-time colleague.
