Article Abstract:

Dr. Patrick Scannon has spent seven years since 1993 looking for World War II planes lost in the battles of 1944 to 1945 between the Americans and Japanese in Palau, Pacific islands east of the Philippines. Scannon has located some of these planes and traced the stories of the few who survived and the crews who died so that they are not forgotten.
