The Australian government has proposed an amendment to censor online materials originating offshore. Internet censorship of materials produced in Australia perhaps can be defended, but government restrictions should not apply to material produced outside of the country. The government should not have the power to decide what is suitable material for its adult citizens. Children, however, should be protected from unsuitable material.
