Highway horror show

Article Abstract:

Canada's highways have been hit by a spate of fatal and near-fatal accidents caused by trucks that have not been properly maintained. Typically, loose parts fall off of trucks and hit cars, injuring or killing their occupants. Ontario may tighten regulations against driving poorly-maintained trucks.

The United Nations Security Council voted to send a military force into Somalia in an effort to protect the food and medicine aid being sent to the suffering country. The contingent of 28,000, mainly Americans, will include 900 Canadians.
