Fund sales are seen as hitting a record

An economist with the Royal Bank of Canada predicts that the sales of mutual funds may set a record in 2002 of about 50 billion Canadian dollars. A record was set in 1997 when Canadians put 64.9 billion Canadian dollars into mutual funds.

Mutual funds record second month of gains

Article Abstract:

Canadians spent 200 million Canadian dollars more in mutual funds than they withdrew in the August 2003 period. This was the sector's net new sales recording for the second consecutive month.
