Article Abstract:

When the Australian authorities began developing a plan to build the Lucas Heights nuclear facility in the southern suburbs of Sydney, they asked four leading contractors to deliver designs for existing reactors that they had built and which had proved successful. The four tenderes were Technicatome, AECL, Siemens, and Argentinian group INVAP, which built the so-far unproven ETRR-2 reactor in Egypt.

Architect of dreams

Article Abstract:

Australian builder Soheil Abedian has convinced Versace to design a luxury hotel in the Gold Coast. After initial reluctance the company has agreed to the Palazzo Versace idea and construction starts in October 1998. It is expected to be ready in 2000. Abedian has always believed in building unconventional buildings and delivering a unique experience to customers.

Steeling the show

Article Abstract:

The Karijini Visitor Centre in the Australian National Park cost 3 million Australian dollars and is a steel structure of an Aboriginal goanna. The building brings together black and white and may win an architectural award.
