Australia's best CEO's, as measured by return on shareholder investment averaged over three years, help to stimulate innovation and create jobs, along with providing a return for investors. The top fifty companies offer returns averaging 22.1% over three years, while returns for the top 197 companies (which includes the 340 listed companies with annual revenues of over $50 mil, minus any firms that posted a loss at any time during the last three years) was just 9.6%, and returns for the largest 30 Australian firms was 10.9% over five years. The top six CEOs preside over businesses focused on a single narrow core, and the CEOs have been brought up in their industries and are willing to use cutting-edge technologies.
