Cost cutting brings record Sobeys profit

Sobeys Inc. recorded a record profit in its second quarter after cashing in on sharper cost cutting, merchandising and marketing. The grocery chain also hopes to benefit from plans to sell its Serca food service unit in a $440 million deal that will close in about a month or so.
