The shady world of pirating is moving to an alarmingly sophisticated level and the volume of counterfeit products for sale in major capitals indicates that it has boosted high-quality mass production making the sale as profitable as trading drugs without the harsh penalties. Hefty fines are imposed on anyone carrying a pirated item and there is street policing by brand manufacturers but production of counterfeits continues, especially in China due to the creation of jobs and demand for brand names at cheap rates.
