One of China's leading airlines has grounded its fleet of Canadian made aircraft, after 54 people were killed in the crash of a Bombardier regional jet in northern China. The crash is potentially a major setback to Bombardier Inc.'s efforts to sell its regional jets in key foreign markets.

Air Canada has to meet critical deadlines by September 30 2004 for emerging from bankruptcy protection. The airline is holding talks with its key financiers Deutsche Bank and GE Capital Aviation services to report in the cost-cutting deals with the unions who have to ratify the agreement.
