Big top gets bigger for Cirque du Soleil

Montreal-based Cirque du Soleil Inc. is expected to reveal plans for a major circus theatre and entertainment hotel in London, England. The theatre, which will have seating for 2,000 people, as well as the hotel, are part of the 500 million pounds (C$1.1 billion) redevelopment of the historic Battersea Power Station in London.

Canadian Standard Life policy holders could reap huge windfall

United Kingdom's Standard Life Assurance Co. is considering a plan to demutualize the company. The plan, which is being pushed by investor Fred Woolard, would disperse funds to 95,000 Canadian policy holders if the $1.3 billion conversion is successful.

Accor plans hotel expansion
