This article discusses the request made by the Air Transport Association for $24 billion in federal aid. Representatives of six passenger airlines and Federal Express met with White House officials, Transportation Secretary, Norm Mineta and members of Congress on September 18 to discuss their situation following the terroist attacks of September 11.
