Air Canada still likes Aeroplan spinoff

Montreal, Que.-based Air Canada, which is burdened with a large debt, is considering an initial public offering for its frequent-flier program. Aeroplan, which is led by president Rupert Duchesne, believes that volatile market conditions would not prohibit a spinoff.

Air Canada CEO warns creditors

Montreal, Que.-based Air Canada, which is led by chief executive officer Robert Milton, is engaged in negotiations with creditors to restructure the debt of Calgary, Alb.-based Canadian Airlines International Ltd. Canadian Airlines has $1 billion in long-term debt.
