Native Americans in Canada have entered the debate over global trade of softwood. The Assembly of First Nations have protested that world trade agreements, which lift trade barriers, threaten the country's aboriginal people and human rights.

Judge says refunds won't clear power debt

Although a federal judge has ruled that California owes power companies more than federal refunds will cover, British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority may still be owed money if the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issues more refunds.
