The financial crisis in Asia dominated discussions at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference, which was held in Vancouver, British Columbia. The leaders met privately to formulate a plan on how to cope with the crisis, which has badly hurt the economies of Japan and South Korea.

'The world's worst loser:' Mickey Kantor takes on trade

Kantor was selected as trade representative because of his ability to state the facts as he sees them and in spite of the fact that he does not have any international trade experience. The former attorney has previously assisted many politicians.
