A plea for Canada

Article Abstract:

There is a significant sense of hopelessness in Canada as to that nation's continuing ability to retain its distinct identity, both politically and socially. There is even talk that eventually Canada will annex itself to the US. Canada's sense of identity and community is examined.

Article Abstract:

The results of a telephone survey of 1,610 adult Canadians conducted from Nov 9-15, 1995, are presented. The survey asked participants questions on such issues as Quebec independence, the budget deficit, unemployment, sexuality, lifestyles and general attitudes about the future.
