The package is divided into 15 chapters including Sales by Direct Mail, Communicating with Sales Force and Proposals and Quotations. Users find the letter that most closely resembles what they want to write and then edit to suit their needs. All 300 model letters are well-written and concise, and customizing them is a simple task. No special equipment is needed, but a hard disk is helpful. Virtually any word-processing program can handle the letters and the software package is available for MS-DOS and Apple Macintosh machines in either 3.5-inch or 5.25-inch formats.

Accolade's Balance of the Planet is an environmental-impact-analysis simulation that sells for $49.95 and can be used on either a Macintosh or IBM-compatible microcomputer. The software includes a much text, requiring considerable reading. Bar graphs help, measuring the environmental impact of decisions that aim to save the planet from ecological destruction. A hard disk is required and the program will require up to 1.5Mbytes of memory. The IBM-compatible version requires 512Kbytes of internal memory and DOS 2.1 or later. The Macintosh version requires a Mac Plus or better with a megabyte of internal memory. Either version can be operated by the keyboard, but a mouse is more convenient.
