The Objective Force is network-centric that embodies the characteristics of the Army Vision and serves the nation as a full spectrum force. By distributing the lethality and agility of mechanized formations among multiple 'smart' combat vehicles, the weight of heavy combat systems can be reduced while retaining their decisive firepower, mobility and shock effect.

The Army's Transformation is constant as they are changing the way they deploy, fight, sustain and use information to become more strategically responsive and dominant across the spectrum of operations. The Army is recapitalizing and selectively modernizing a portion of the existing force in order to maintain readiness while building the future force.
