Atlantis Aerospace Corp of Toronto, Ontario, has delivered its Action Speed Tactical Trainer (ASTT) to the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF). The delivery of the ASTT, which supports such scenarios as undersea and air warfare, synthetic surface, operator function and command decision-making, is part of the company's Naval Tactical Team Trainer (NTTT). The NTTT, which is still in the development phase, is being developed for eventual use by the RSNF.

MUSE Virtual Presence has won a contract for a new close range-gunnery simulator for the UK Royal Navy. The systems will immerse trainee operators within synhetic ship-based environments where they will be trained in the procedures for engaging a wide range of dynamic air, sea and coastal targets. The simulator will deliver realistic visual images and sound effects while preserving the touch and feel of the hardware for the weapon operators.

STN Atlas Elektronic of Bremen, Germany, has been awarded by Penang Shipbuilding Corp Naval Dockyard of Malaysia a contract to provide a simulation training center to the Royal Malaysian Navy. The $43.8-million contract calls for the delivery of three simulators for shiphandling, operations control center, and engine room. They are expected to be operational between 2002 and 2005.
