Article Abstract:
Initial production versions of the Danish Mine Disposal Charge (DAMDIC) were delivered in 1997, to the Danish and Australian navies. Developed by Nordic Defence Industries (NDI) in Denmark, the high-precision mine disposal charge is typically placed within 200 mm of the target, and offers a very high level of accuracy within 500 to 600 mm of the target. A controlled trajectory on release is ensured by specially-designed fins that are attached to the charge, while precision aiming is facilitated by a graticule installed on the camera used by the ROV operator.
