Australia sets scene for ASC sale

Australia's Department of Finance has provided some element of certainty over the much-speculated privatization of state-owned ASC by revealing that the sale of the company will be complete by the end of 2008. The sale of ASC is expected to raise at least AUD700 million in revenue for the government.

Fast sealift catamaran joins US Marine Corps

The US Marine Corps has chartered the Austal Ships Theatre Logistics Vessel Westpac Express for a 3-month trial. The 101-meter highspeed catamaran will be able to carry the full gear of a Marine Expedition Unit battalion including helicopters at greater speeds than before.
