Advanced modular gun: Redefining 'faster than a speeding bullet'

Article Abstract:

Advanced modular gun (AMG) that can launch large caliber projectiles at hypervelocity speed, beyond 150 miles is developed by Applied Ordnance Technology Inc. (AOT), with an aim to provide adequate timely fire support for the highly mobile war fighter. A team of AOT is also working on performance enhancements such as additional barrel segments to the cannon assembly that is mounted on its own custom gun stand and evaluating a sabotted subcaliber instrumented projectile.

BAE systems course correcting fuze

Article Abstract:

BAE Systems has developed the global positioning system based two-directional course correcting fuze (CCF) that improves the effectiveness and precision of the existing cannon artillery ammunition. The CCF achieved a precision error of less than 50 meters during testing, which is three times more accurate than the control rounds.
