Advanced Hawkeye promises quantum leap in US Navy's AEW capability
Article Abstract:
The US Navy's (USN) seventh-generation Hawkeye Airborne Early Warning (AEW) aircraft is scheduled to fly in 2007. The Advanced Hawkeye (AHE) programme offers a massive upgrade of the aircraft's capabilities, providing it core enabling capabilities that are designed to meet the operational requirements for the USN's 'Sea Power 21' concept, and for theatre air and missile defence with a stronger structure and a revised propulsion system.
