Gabler Maschinenbau GmbH is developing an adapting hoistable masts for submarines. The system is composed of the hoistable mast itself, the sensor or antenna, the hoisting mechanism, hydraulic installations for the operation and retraction of hoists and peripheral apparatus and operating consoles. Among the hoistable masts that may be integrated on modern submarines are periscopes, communication masts with configurations for HF, VHF and UHF reception, an ESM mast for early warning and reconnaissance, a snorkel and a radar mast.

STN Atlas Elektronik GmbH has developed the modular ISUS technology for integrated submarine combat system with enhanced sonar functions. The solution consists of active component Activated Flank Array Sonar, torpedo countermeasures, a novel Passive Intercept Ranging Sonar and thin line towed array sonars for winches. The company has demonstrated the modularity of ISUS 90 by the retro-integration of a flank array sinnar into an existing ISUS 83 combat system.

Kamewa AB hopes to improve the appeal of its SII Water Jet series with the introduction of a new seven-bladed impeller. The impeller, which Kamewa developed at the its Hydrodynamic Research Centre, reduces noise and vibration and raises cavitation margins, making the device an attractive option for naval and commercial uses. The impeller also offers the possibility of using smaller water jet units in several applications.
