War as a variable phenomenon in human history is examined. Prime Minister Winston Churchill's tribute to Gen. Erwin Rommel before the British House of Commons in January 1943 is considered to be one of the few daring and deserving national pronouncements of any conflagration.

Field commander vs. Washington negotiator in Apacheland
