AFA 2003 National Convention: toward a new style of warfare

Article Abstract:

Senior Air Force and national leaders as well as top private experts got together at the AFA's International Symposium held in September 16-17 in Washington D.C. to review and assess the progress of and lessons from the Global War on terrorism. The development of USAF's expeditionary capabilities, the emergence of true jointness as a critical force multiplier, and the power of precision weapons and information to transform operations in the modern battle space were discussed.

UCAVs move toward feasibility

Article Abstract:

The US Air Force is considering the development of Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles to provide air warfare assets that are effective in attacking enemy positions and are able to save the lives of air crews. Currently, the defence department and various aerospace companies are investing money for UCAV designs that are small, stealthy, technologically advantageous and are financially viable.

Toward an unmanned bomber

Article Abstract:

United States Air Force's Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle (UCAV) is gaining importance as world's first unmanned bomber due to its weight, range and payload. The UCAV is flexible and is a tool for long-range strike, since it loiters over maneuver units on the ground directly with the battlefield airmen.
