A clean sweep for AMCM

Article Abstract:

The US Navy being a leading practitioner of airborne mine countermeasures (AMCM), is developing a raft of new systems to bring the capabilities into the smaller MH-60 airframes mandated by the service's Helicopter Master plan. The Sea Dragon, Sea king and the MK 105 are some of systems used in AMCM operations.

General Atomics wins USN's future catapult contract

The US Naval Air Warfare Center has selected General Atomics to develop the Electro-magnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS). Four EMALS launchers would be fitted in place of traditional steam catapults, using energy generated by the ship's nuclear reactor to launch the carrier's air group
