Article Abstract:

Training programs for Marine Corps officers ought to include sessions for effective communications. Many Marine leadrs have poorly developed communications and listening skills that result in deadlines not being met, less than optimal work results, extended work hours, a perception of inept leadership by workers and other undesirable situations. Officers, especially junior officers, should also conduct periodic reviews to heighten their awareness of the necessity of such skills for operational effectiveness.
