The difference of opinion regarding honest and unbiased reporting stem from the relative nature of public perception about bias. News agencies should provide the public with information not only about what they want to know, but also what is important for them to know. Allegations of unfair reporting act as a catalyst for introspection among journalists.

News media ought to ensure the correct portrayal of America and conform to American identity and mind by hiring employees committed to the task. The battle to preserve a free press will fail if the people refuse to support insensitive media that presents a distorted picture of the nation.
