British Telecommunications PLC claims broadband internet services, which enables the internet to compete with broadcast television's audiovisual quality, will be available soon. The new technology requires video streaming, and the three main competing formats are Apple Computer's Quicktime, Microsoft's Windows Media Player, and RealNetworks' RealPlayer.
