Allen promises end to regional job cuts

Charles Allen, ITV's chief executive announced at the unveiling of ITV's plc's first results that no further job losses and studio closures would take place. However, according to him, cost cutting would now focus on the reduction of regulatory and licensing costs.

The practice of hiring workers new to the broadcasting industry without offering payment is investigated. Work experiencers are commonplace in the industry, but the legality of the practice is questioned when employers refuse to offer on-the-job training.
