British Broadcasting Corporation Ltd Natural History Unit (NHU) Head Keith Scholey is planning to commission more programmes dealing with conservation issues but wants to establish less expensive and innovative formats. He welcomes the arrangement with the Discovery Channel and sees it as a source of new money for the NHU. The NHU has been operational for 41 years. It is established as the world's best natural history production unit. Scholey has worked in the unit for since leaving university. From 1990 he was a producer before being appointed to his current role in 1998.
