In 1980 Independent Television's (ITV) became successful in drawing more number of the audience than ever like topping Top 20 shows of 1983 in the United Kingdom. Details of the popular television shows produced in that time period are presented. Innovative policies introduced by the management of ITV worked well in this period.

Women after having done so much for TV do not deserve to hear that TV has feminized. We should stop categorizing to male and female because the kind of contribution women are making in this industry cannot be measured and defined.
