Article Abstract:
The Wedgetail, a modified 737-700 airliner will serve as an Aerial Early Warning and Control (AEW & C) system for the Royal Australian Air Force and carries a Multi-Role Electronically Scanned Array radar made by Northrop Grumann. The aircraft that was designed on computer screens and modularly assembled is equipped with radar that provides a 360-degree picture and has the capacity to track more than 3,000 targets in the air and the sea out to more than 200 nautical miles.
