Article Abstract:
Books and articles on Jules Verne and his works abound with Herbert Lottman's one contribution to this bibliography being considered as negligible in both content and quality. Lottman tends to emphasize the biographical details over the creative side and even indulges in some sensational speculation. Because of this oversight and undue obsession with only one aspect of Verne's life, Lottman fails to explain why the writer has become one of the most widely read authors of all time.

Article Abstract:
A collective bibliography of science fiction criticism arranged chronologically is presented. The list does not include critical works with utopia as their major theme or those that qualify more as anthologies of science fiction, author biographies and interviews, and general bibliographies rather than as true science fiction criticism. Moreover, instead of individual reviews and essays by famous critics or authors, only their relevant compendia are included in the list.
