A former skeptic now supports a fully-tested LCS

Article Abstract:

Robert Work, a military analyst with the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments who conducted a study on the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) program and earlier questioned the Navy's need for a large surface-combatant fleet, has now asserted that the Navy should build two squadrons of the LCS and conduct meaningful operational testing for at least a year before beginning a full production program. The Navy has received three proposals for the Flight 0 LCS that will have the ability to carry more mission modules at once and perform more types of missions simultaneously from General Dynamics Corp., Lockheed Martin Corp. and Raytheon Co. of which it is more likely to buy two different versions and later procure two production versions.
