Article Abstract:
The effectiveness of federal and state laws governing the use of digital and electronic signatures in electronic commerce is examined. The effects of preemption of state Uniform Electronic Transactions Acts by the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act of 2000 are outlined and revisions to the federal Act are proposed.
