Article Abstract:
Average squared sales can be used as a test for non-collusive information sharing in Cournot oligopoly. Non-collusive information sharing is good for risk-averse firms if their average squared sales increases. Collusion usually results in smaller average squared sales. If the average squared sales increases, the information sharing is likely to be non-collusive and results in increased social welfare. Thus, firms should be allowed to share information if doing so results in increased average squared sales.

Article Abstract:
The standard public goods theory which predicts free - riding should precludes success of the community is not applicable to peer - to -peer file sharing communities as the latter presents a paradox. The study presents a model in which users choose their own level of sharing, downloading, and listening in the presence of sharing costs and endogenous downloading costs, as a result of usersE attempts to reduce own costs.
