Article Abstract:
Elizabeth J du Fresne believes that pretrial strategy often matters more than the tactics used at the trial itself, because the plaintiffs' lawyers at this time are still developing their themes and always divulge more than they should. Du Fresne chairs the labor and management consulting group at Miami's Steel, Hector and Davis and before that specialized in representing plaintiffs in employment litigation at a well regarded litigation boutique. Du Fresne also believes in developing a detailed chronology and getting agreement to stipulated facts as early as possible. Du Fresne's defense of The Southland Corp in a case involving sexual harassment charges is described.
